KUMONI donates €5,000 to Kuopion Sotaveteraanit Ry

In honour of Independence Day on 6.12.2016 and independent Finland, we decided to donate this year’s Christmas gift to Kuopion Sotaveteraanit Ry. We donated €5,000 to support veterans and their spouses in living at home.

The organisation is experiencing financial difficulties and relies on external support, and needs companies like ours and associations to make their operations possible. Our veterans and their spouses have walked a difficult path and performed a great service for all of us so that we may live peacefully in the Finland we know today. It is our obligation to pay our respect for their actions and the sacrifices that they have made for us.

We challenge all Kuopio companies to add to the Christmas gift pot for Kuopion Sotaveteraanit Ry so that they may continue their good work for the benefit of veterans and veterans’ spouses. Let’s all get involved for this vital and worthy cause.

We’re all in this together.

KUOPION MONIRAKENNUS IS NOW KUMONI

As part of our plans to expand, Kuopion Monirakennus has decided to rebrand and will continue its operations under the name Kumoni. Managing Director Pasi Pitkänen is happy with the company's new name and look: "People have been calling us Kumoni informally for a while now, so it was easy to adjust to the name change. The new name is also easier to use when we're working elsewhere in Finland. But our roots are in Kuopio and the new name also reflects that."

Kumoni is a construction company specialising in renovations. It has operated in the Kuopio region since 2002. It is a major provider of pipe renovations for housing companies in Kuopio and the surrounding areas. Kumoni has also renovated several significant public sites, such as the Orthodox Church Museum of Finland, the Kuopio Market Hall and the Alava church.

The next step for the company is to expand to other cities. According to Managing Director Pasi Pitkänen, there is growing demand all over Finland for high-quality renovations that truly show consideration for residents and their concerns. The company is currently engaging in negotiations with partners in cooperation and with interest groups in several companies, and its first projects outside of Kuopio are due in the coming months.

The increase in our range of services to include drain casting that we announced a few weeks ago has also accelerated our growth and expansion. Different sites require different working methods, and it is in the best interest of residents to select the most suitable method for a site. Project Manager Kai Seppänen also emphasises the importance of customer service in renovations: "As we work in people's homes, it's important for each and every employee to understand that we are in the service industry," he says.

SEVERAL NEW RENOVATION SITES FOR MONIRAKENNUS

Kuopion Monirakennus has won contracts to become contractor for the following sites. HVAC&E renovations will be carried out at all sites:

  • Asunto Oy Kuopion Pohjolankatu 30
  • Asunto Oy Kuopion Kirkkokatu 48-50
  • Asunto Oy Kuopion Kasarmikatu 14
  • Asunto Oy Kuopion Kotkankallionkatu 5

Work will begin during the spring at all sites except for Pohjolankatu 30, where work has already begun.

KUOPION MONIRAKENNUS OY IS EXPANDING OPERATIONS TO INCLUDE DRAIN CASTING

In the future Monirakennus will also be able to carry out drain renovations on blocks of flats, terraced houses and small detached or semi-detached houses. The interior renovation of drains will supplement construction operations, meaning that Monirakennus will be a one-stop shop for construction work and drain casting.

We use the TKR pipe renovation method using safe and tested Finnish technology products. A drain cast using the TKR method is a damp-proof, corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant product that can withstand impact and bending due to its high elongation at break value. The renovated drain is also elastic and anti-static. TKR products are also odourless during and after installation.

"As a construction contractor we've seen all kinds of piping contractors in various projects and have taken note of the problems that occur when contracts are divided and fragmented. By carrying out drain casting ourselves, we can offer the same responsibility and quality of work that our customers are used to in our construction operations," explains Project Manager Kai Seppänen. As is the case in its construction operations, Kuopion Monirakennus also places high emphasis on customer services, communication and a professional approach when it carries out drain casting work.

The expansion into new areas will mean changes to the organisation of the company. Timo Miettinen, who has worked for almost 10 years as a senior site manager, will become site manager for drain casting and will also be responsible for calculations.
